Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Roknodin Javadi pointed to the inking of a contract between NIOC and Saras SpA of Italy over crude sales; “the agreement covers a daily sales volume of 65 thousand barrels of crude oil.”
The official emphasized that currently about 30 to 35 thousand barrels of oil are being sold to the Italian company asserting “the volume of exports to Saras is expected to reach a daily high of 65 thousand barrels in near future.”
Javadi also touched upon the sealing of crude sale deal with Eni of Italy saying that negotiations were underway with Eni SpA and final agreement would soon be achieved.
“In case of agreement, it would be possible to sell 100 thousand barrels of crude oil per day to Italy’s Eni,” emphasized deputy oil minister.
Meanwhile, Executive Director for International Affairs at National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Seyed Mohsen Ghamsari said on Friday “the current export volume of Iran’s crude oil and condensate if 2.5 million barrels per day while 100 thousand barrels will be added to the figure in the coming weeks.”
Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh had also announced the signing of oil sale contracts with Italy noting “in addition to oil sale deal, a $ 1.5 billion-dollar agreement will be inked with Italy’s Eni for the development of the third phase of Iran's Darkhovin oil field.
